The teaching methods and curriculum in our Pre-K 3 program help students develop the skills they will need to succeed throughout their academic careers and beyond. We utilize Center-Based Learning in our classrooms, with each core subject (literacy, math, science, and social studies) having its own activity area. This method encourages self-motivation and helps children develop socially. For more information on our Pre-K 3 curriculum, visit buildboldfutures.org.
In the Archdiocese of New York, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is the preferred methodology for early childhood and pre-school children. Pre-K 3 uses Montessori teaching principles to present the essential realities of the Catholic faith to even very young children. Specially designed materials and inspiring presentations help children explore areas of faith formation appropriate to their developmental age.
Universal Pre-K (UPK) is excellent, high-quality Pre-K education for 4-year-olds, available at no cost, regardless of household income. Offered in partnership with New York State and the local public school district, UPK is designed to help more children begin their education at an early age and get a solid start on the road to active learning – and it’s completely free!
Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) is the time to turn your curious child into an active, interested student who looks forward to going to school. A love of learning that begins in Pre-K starts your child down the road that leads to success in high school and beyond. Your children will enjoy a safe, caring environment; but UPK is much more than a daycare. Each academic subject (literacy, math, science and social studies) has its own physical center. As they play, learn, make their own choices and socialize, children develop creative and critical thinking, as well as large and fine motor skills, through active, hands-on exploration.
